Branding discount retail

AlignandPull have secured intervention work with a major discount retailer to innovate their business strategy, develop service design, proposition, perception, brand value to regain lost market share.

More strong players, including supermarkets are moving into the discount market and as record profits in this section of retail continue, many more newcomers will be attracted into this buoyant retail sector.

Peeling back the lid on current operations reveal that marketing and advertising spend was incredibly high for very little on no return, with encouragement by an incumbent agency to continually spend more on advertising without questioning the effectiveness of activity.

Consumer expectation has been raised. This is due to competition creating new standard expectation from customers. To remain in the game, retailers operating in the discount sector have to respond, price is a component but not the complete picture.

The big ambition is to open many more sites across the UK.
