Midlands Branding Agency AlignandPull 30 second pitched a new concept for an online business and was voted in the top 10, which then went on two win award for the most fun LEAN proven viable business at the end of the process.
It’s was an intensive three-day workshop which teaches entrepreneurs and business innovators how to build disruptive products, with some very hard days and late nights. The workshop started with a series of product pitches that helped the participants into teams. Everyone worked on a NEW idea. Each team then developed its problem hypothesis, solution hypothesis and a series of assumptions which are core to the success of the business. Each team creates an MVP, or “Minimum Viable Product.” The goal of the MVP test was to “Get Out Of the Building,” speak with real customers and to collect cash or non-cash currency which serves as validation. In our instance it was website visits and email addresses from people who were interesting in BETA testing in Leicester Square in London.
Midlands Branding Agency. The process promotes a problem-centric approach to business ideation. Continuously validating and invalidating assumptions, teams are forced to pivot their solution (and even problem) toward a true customer pain; rather than creating a solution and after-the-fact seeking customers with a problem. In essence to fail fast to void a business model concept before investment risk or drive the merits, removing the barriers if possible to a lower risk viability and investment goal.
The event culminates with each team pitching its new solutions and its experience using the process. In the competition the winning team is not selected based on who has the best idea, but instead on which team honors the process and gains the most insights through its pivots.

AlignandPull love new thinking and ideation processes, to help break up the established and critically flawed ways of working.
The agency world is now littered with commissioned executive sales teams, who have little interest in creating success for clients (based on our observations and client feedback). Pitches have become nothing more than spaces for slick sales processes with the aim of securing of business, rather than solving the clients problems. AlignandPull is growing slower by finding clients that think longer term, enjoy working collaboratively with processes to build sustainable success.
So are we going to take our three day fast developed and iteration tested business model to market?
